Strategy: Planning using yEd Graph

People say: “You’re dyslexic, therefore you must use Inspiration,” but I have just been introduced to yEd Graph Editor and it absolutely wipes the floor with Inspiration.
I have really changed my mind about spider-charts/mind maps now. It's got all the bits I wished that Inspiration had and it's free!
If I want to see the whole of a plan at once it is all there in Yed graph whereas in Inspiration you have to move between different views. Because it has so many options it may be better suited to those who like technology and are a bit 'geeky'

"If I could just arrange information differently. Using Word, it’s still like a big, long list. Inspiration is just a pain."

There are several free mindmapping programs such as Freemind that can be downloaded, but it is also possible to work and share ideas on-line with applications like Mindmeister. If a diagram needs to be created using art work or maps think about the Visual Understanding Environment as a teaching tool as well as a method of explaining ideas.
