"Before lectures, I print the slides into OneNote, ready to be annotated with my own notes. After the lecture, I can search everything in my notebook - including text, handwriting, recordings, the printed slides and any text in images."
"Sometimes my lecturers digress from the content. If I am using a digital voice recorder I can speed up these sections of the recording to get to the information I need."
On the Olympus DS40 a quick way to speed up the speech is to press the bottom part of the play button on the side of the recorder - to return to normal speed press the upper part again. This works on other DS recorders as demonstrated in the photograph.

"There are times when I find it hard to take notes when lecturers begin to talk about other subjects than the one related to the title of the session."
