Strategy: Adjust power settings to dull screen for videos

"Because with my dyslexia, the bright colours give me headaches, so if I dull it down [the screen] I can normally sit at a computer for a lot longer... for our clinical skills I just sit at home with the music switched on and my revision would be watching the video!"
Screen grab taken from one of the videos available from Clinical Skills Education Centre, Department of Medical Education at Queen’s University Belfast
The first screen grab is without the dulling down and the second view has been dulled down.

This can be achieved with a desktop monitor using the screen menu buttons or if you have a laptop with some power settings it is possible to dull the display as if you want to save battery power or to use the function key settings such as FN + F6 and FN+F7 to turn up the brightness again (these keys may differ depending on the make of laptop).

I download the clinical skills videos from Blackboard, because I'm very pictorial. I like pictures more than words."
