Google Images Search provides users with a way of finding images linked to a chosen subject - the service is described by Wikipedia where it is pointed out that the images are found by their file name. So this may not be as helpful as it could be but now Google have provided users with a fun way to label images to help surfers. This service is called Google Image Labeler.
Accessibility advice from Google points out the importance of using 'alt text' tags with images, as this not only helps screen reader users but it also helps the search engine.
