yEd - Java™ Graph Editor is useful free application for developing diagrams and mind maps. It is possible to view the graphic view alongside the linear text view and the overview of the whole diagram in one window. This can be very helpful when the diagram is large and has many branches. Shapes, text type and colours can be changed and the digram can be exported in several formats for example WMF, PDF, JPEG, GIF, XML, PNG, HTML or SVG. The downloadable program can be run on Windows, Mac and Linux systems.
