Outline plan"If I am planning an essay, first I will read around the topic, highlight the quotes I need and then I will write down the headings, work out the word count for each section and finally put the quotes in each section and write around them. I seem to have a mind map in my head, a vision of the plan so I do not need to have that on paper."

Texthelp in Word

"Now (which I never did before), I listen to it while I’m reading it from paper. Then if there is a change needed, I’ll stop the reading and change it on the laptop, which has helped me loads. It’s a lot quicker."

Quote

"I’d do it all by paper first. I just don’t like the thought of typing in my thoughts. I write what my thoughts are … a plan, and then I will go and type it. Then I re-edit it on the laptop after that. I always print off millions of copies and will always have a new copy of the essay once the edits are done, and then read it through again."

Tip

Think about these proof reading tips. "I prefer reading off paper and having it on screen. I don’t know why but I like to mark .. highlight on the paper. Once I fiddle I feel like I could lose my place, but with paper I know where I am, so I just keep going." (Lottie)
