"I have used Google Scholar for finding research papers, and the Google Sets Tool where you specify a short list of things when it will fill in the gaps. I mostly use if for generating the host names for the undergraduate lab PCs but it can also be useful if you forget things for example if you have a list of programing languages it will complete it for you."

"There are times when I need a list of say 'programming languages' when I am writing a report or have to generate a list of names for computers in a lab, I find it useful to use some of the Google Tools such as Google Sets."

Google has a labs page the 'Google's technology playground' where they beta ideas and seek feedback. A recent experiment (08/07/08) is 'Lively' where you can "Create an avatar and chat with your friends in rooms you design." An older idea is the 'Accessible Web Search for the Visually Impaired'
