"I would use our ECS website for lecture notes and certainly search for the tutorials online. Then I use the Internet to get researched bits together, finding the information I need – thinking “this will do”, the AVS (Advanced Audio Video Coding Standard) specification for the language I’m using and making sure that I am familiar with it …and then using Word to write up the reports."
"I use wikipedia quite regularly, as well as the iEEE and ACM web portals for finding research papers... I tend to find, to put it bluntly, that random chat of people on the Internet is less reliable than some of the other bits and pieces out there. There aren’t any specific forums I would instinctively go to search. I only tend to get them out as results from using Google."
"On line I can make text bigger – definitely, depending on the work but I usually aim for between 18 and 24 point text – pretty large. I have a large monitor and I find having a large monitor with large text is a much handier solution."
