Strategy: Dictionary.com when Word fails
5 Keywords: Dictionary, Complex Words, Dyslexia, Audiology, Learning Difficulties
Whenever I’m writing.I use the Thesaurus in Word, But if I don’t get what I want, then I’d go somewhere else, like Dictionary.com but dictionary.com has like a medical attachment.
I think if you just put in a word that is medical then it will take it from the Science Search. Medical dictionaries are not specific to audiology. I find that in some medical dictionaries there is very little basic information. There is the Handbook of Audiology. They are two ‘that big’ books – that big!"
Quote
"Word does not recognise any audiological words. I add them to the dictionary as I go, but if I put a capital letter on it and then add it, when I don’t put a capital letter on it, it still doesn’t recognise it."
